Governor Rendell Celebrates New Job-Creating Venture in Johnstown

February 21, 2008 JOHNSTOWN - A state investment helped bring a Florida-based company to Johnstown, where it has purchased the assets of a shuttered telemarketing center and agreed to create at least 150 new jobs, Governor Edward G. Rendell said today.

"TMS Health is giving new life to a vacant site, providing new opportunities for a number of displaced employees and is planning to grow a new division," Governor Rendell said. "This is happening because, for the past five years, we've been actively making things happen, not sitting on the sidelines.

"It's no accident that Pennsylvania is positioned to weather any national economic downturn that might be heading our way. The budget I proposed earlier this month will help us protect our progress and do even more for communities throughout Pennsylvania"

The Governor's Action Team project already helped to create about 50 positions with the company, which supports pharmaceutical and healthcare businesses. Pennsylvania provided a $353,000 funding offer that included a $223,000 loan through the machinery and equipment loan fund, as well as a $130,000 opportunity grant.

TMS Health LLC offers customized marketing and customer service support to its clients in pharmaceuticals and healthcare. The Johnstown operation will support its growth plans, including a new division - TMS Professional - that focuses on non-healthcare clients.
